Steepest of the Blue Ridge Mountains

A mountain stands where many trespassed for decades
The blue, magnificent—towering from the soft ground
above the canopy of trees
Where rocks and trees rise along side
Stable and secure
Reaching high to breathe the clouds reprieve
The fragrance of a fresh forest—heavy with dew, where the fog shivers
In the morning, as the sun rises ambitiously.
Black sand beaches surround the edges—seldom vacant
Rich and roaring in waterfalls hidden by vegetation.
Moses
retires to Mount Sinai where God reveals to him the Ten Commandments.
Muhammad
meditates in a mountain cave when he receives his first revelation.
Reaching the top, there will always be another mountain.
