Night Drunk on You

When your soul lies down in the cool grass at the top of the hill,
the atmosphere is Stuffed,
the rapid rush from the world
feeling suddenly much larger and the sky
swallows you whole.
In that very moment
every bit
slowed down,
a merry-go- round just came to its stop;
and your mind screams, violently
swirling like its an asteroid full of hot stardust exploding
harsh and wild, but serene :
and slow.
The stars speckle, a crystal ball in the denim sky
I begged to cast your manic memories out into the galaxy.
maybe they would float
off into a star.
and i could watch them burn
within the other celestial bodies surrounding Ursa Minor.
But you
are not a star.
You are the entire galaxy
in one star.
